Alaskan Airlines Is Moving Into Pittsburgh

Alaska Airlines are moving into the Pittsburgh International Airport and implementing a nonstop Pittsburgh to Seattle flight for the first time in 10 years. The flight, which will start on Sept. 6 2018 will service about 120 travelers who currently travel between the two cities daily.

This will also help Pittsburgh’s bid for Amazon’s HQ2, as previously Pittsburgh was the only major city that didn’t offer a direct service to Seattle, which could have been a potential deal-breaker for the Seattle based company.

In the meantime, several Pittsburgh companies will benefit from the new flight including American Eagle Outfitters and Facebook. Allowing these big companies an easier option will no doubt help spur Pittsburgh’s economy and could even attract other tech start-ups to headquarter in the area.
